Mission
Statement
It
is part of both North and South American native
prophecies that we are moving into another "world"
at this time. Many ancient cultures have predicted
a major shift for the planet and humanity that we
are already in the midst of experiencing. The
nature of this shift is unknown. It could
potentially be either catastrophic, or it could
come about through a more global awakening to the
value of life and love. The balance is in our
hands. To assist humankind with participating in
(and even creating) this change, some indigenous
cultures are bringing forward their ancient wisdom
and sharing it with those who are interested in
choosing to manifest a more peaceful
transition.
Our
mission is to bring the teachings of the North
(Eagle) and South (Condor) American native cultures
together. Through the lessons of the Medicine
Wheels, the experience of ceremony and the
transmissions of the Inka rites, we will pass on
the Wisdom of the Ancients. Our goal is
to:
Provide a deep experience of and respect for
indigenous spiritual knowing,
Show how this knowledge (and related ceremonial
practices) can positively impact us all on an
individual and collective level,
Introduce new meaning, value and consciousness
into our daily lives, and
Assist in the plan of creation by challenging us
all to become the new Wisdomkeepers.
Medicine
Wheel
The
Medicine Wheel is a way of walking through life in
a manner that is in balance and harmony with all
levels and aspects of a person's Being. It is Whole
Being integration on all of the levels of human
existence - the literal, mythic, symbolic, and
energetic. It has been described as a "tool of
Self-realization and divine communion". We call it
depth psychology at an experiential
level.
Learning
the principles and practices of the Medicine Wheel
completely changes the quality of one's existence.
Both the South American and North American medicine
wheels are (in their own unique way):
an elegant model for moving through life in a
more conscious and connected way,
a tool that can be used at any time to work with
challenging situations in one's life,
a wisdom-based way of being that puts us back in
charge of our own lives and shows us the
possibility of co-creation on all levels -
personal, collective and planetary.
All
indigenous cultures have a basic philosophy of life
existing in a circular way. Around the outside of
the circle are the physical, mental, emotional, and
spirit (energy) aspects of a person's Being. If any
of these are out of balance, it affects the others.
If they are brought into balance and then placed
into service to one's individual core, then a
person becomes a fully functioning human Being in
balance and harmony.
Within
this program, participants will receive physical
representations of their personal work in each of
the four directions as well as the center,
primarily in the form of stones. Each of these is
placed in a "birthing" cloth/pouch, the totality of
which is called a mesa. Each participant will take
their mesa with them as a life-long tool with which
to work their own personal wheel and interface with
the Universal whole.
There
will be ceremonies, rites (energetic
transmissions), and rituals specific to the four
directions, the center place, and the wheel as a
whole throughout the workshop. We will reconnect
with ourselves, with Mother Earth, and with the
elemental aspects of our world. We will rediscover
the mystery and blessings of human existence, and
the power we have to dream ourselves and our world
into being. This will be a life changing
experience.

Terry
and Rose Stout

Terry and Rose Stout
Terry
and Rose Stout live in the beautiful mountains near
Durango, Colorado. Friends for 30 years (and
married for twelve years), they have developed a
passion for the wisdom of the Inka Medicine Wheel
and its power to change individual lives (and
consequently, the world). The Inka prophecy says
that now is the time to bring the indigenous wisdom
of the elders down from the Andes and to the people
of the world. The elders are doing this, and Terry
and Rose have studied with them and have lived
their philosophies. They bring the uniqueness of
their individual and combined spirits to this
teaching and work.
Terry
has a Doctorate of Metaphysical Science in
Psychology, two master's degrees, and
licenses/certifications as a Clinical
Hypnotherapist, Marriage and Family Therapist,
Pastoral Psychologist, and Grief Recovery
Specialist. He has been in private practice as a
Psychologist for the past twenty-nine
years.
His
primary job for 38 years (airline pilot) has taken
him all over the globe and has made him a "citizen
of the world". Always fascinated by ancient
traditions, he learned the wisdom of the circle
from the Inuit and the Hopi and experienced the
power of ceremony. After being drawn to and trained
in the Inka Medicine Wheel, he realized that this
ancient wisdom was true depth psychology and whole
being integration. The Medicine Wheel and its
associated rites have since been an integral part
of Terry's teachings and practice, both personally
and with clients.
Rose
Stout graduated with a bachelor's degree in Math
and spent twenty-eight years working with highly
specialized computer information systems in
California. She did volunteer work with the Center
for Attitudinal Healing (working with people before
and after their loved ones passed on) and at a
major hospital (working with babies in the
Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit). She knew she was
missing a fulfillment of the heart in her work
life, so after marrying Terry and moving to
Durango, Colorado, she followed several callings
that have brought her closer to her heart's desire
and her life purpose.
She
trained as a Massage Therapist and Healing Therapy
practitioner and is certified in both modalities.
No longer practicing (due to an injury), she is
currently developing her interest in and knowledge
of the eight Celtic seasons, offering celebrations
and ceremonies in honor of each unique season and
the meaning that it has in the natural world and in
our lives. This has deepened her appreciation of
and connection with the cycle of nature, with
ceremony and with community.
In
2001, Terry and Rose started their training in the
Inka Medicine Wheel. In 2002, they were married by
Inka elders in Peru on the Winter Solstice. They
have traveled several times to Peru, trained with
the elders, and spent time with them, by
invitation, in their village high in the Andes.
Terry and Rose are full Mesa Carriers in the Inka
tradition (the equivalent of Pipe Carriers in the
North American tradition). They have pursued
additional training in a Masters program for the
Medicine Wheel (the Path of the Sage). Rose and
Terry have a passion for doing this work together
and giving the Inka rites. They have become attuned
to recognizing the universal truths that are found
in indigenous cultures worldwide. Over the past
several years, Rose and Terry have participated in
the International Gathering of Shamans &emdash; in
Irela England and Molokai.
They
practice the principles of the Medicine Wheel in
their daily lives and have a passion for bringing
the ancient wisdom and the rites to others in the
true spirit of Ayni (unconditional giving) and
Munay (Love), which are the guiding life principles
of the Inka.
Cherokee
Crystal

Cherokee
Crystal
Cherokee
Crystal has been on a medicine path her whole life.
She was born with intuitive gifts that, once
understood and integrated, have allowed her to hear
and see things before they happen and to be able to
communicate with Spirit and other beings (including
Archangel Michael). As a young girl, her
grandmother taught her to read the clouds, to
utilize bodies of water in ceremony and to learn
from animals. She has always been highly connected
to the natural world. After following the PowWow
circuit for two years, she was told by elders that
she should return to her heritage and reconnect
with her ancient self.
She
has studied under several North American native
shamans. The longest apprenticeship was with the
Choctaw tribe, but she has also studied with the
Seminole, Apache and Cherokee. She is a Pipe
Carrier in the Cherokee tradition. She has taught
the Medicine Wheel to many individuals and groups,
including many from Japan (who are hungering to
come home to themselves).
She
has a private practice in Sedona, AZ, where she
does crystal healings, crystal teachings, intuitive
readings, spiritual counseling and Medicine Wheel
teachings and ceremonies.
Cherokee
has had the vision to bring the North and South
American native teachings together in the form of
the Medicine Wheel. She believes strongly in
bringing the teachings to individuals so that they
can play a role in changing, not only their own
lives, but the world itself.

The
Circle of Life
The
New Age movement of the 1960's spoke to the
triangular need for balance between Body, Mind, and
Spirit - which was good. However, they didn't go
far enough.
For
thousands of years indigenous cultures around the
globe have held to a more comprehensive model that
is much more complete. According to this model,
which is based on the circle, there are four
aspects to the human being that have an
interrelationship with each other: Body, Emotion,
Mind, and Spirit (Energy).
Having
the circular relationship, if any one of these
aspects is out of balance, the rest (being
interconnected) will also be affected. Therefore,
in order for a person to be healthy, there needs to
be balance and harmony around the
circle.
But,
that's not all.
For
human beings to be healthy, they not only have to
be in balance and harmony around the circle, they
have to become whole and fully functional. This is
accomplished by putting the four balanced aspects
in service to the center, or core, of Being (also
known as the Soul or Higher Self, among other
things). This concept is called whole being
integration and is symbolized by the equal arm
cross.
The
principles and practices of the Medicine Wheel are
based on this principle, and are considered depth
psychology at an experiential level.
The
Seneca have a word for this called "Hokseda", which
loosely means that which is within, without,
around, and through.
